My artistic practice explores the relationship between material, transformation and existence. Working across sculpture and installation, I investigate processes of becoming, where form emerges through an interplay between intention, material agency and the forces that exceed our control.
Embracing uncertainty as an integral part of the artistic process, I allow the inherent qualities and behaviours of materials to shape the work. This approach opens up a space in which making becomes a form of inquiry, extending beyond the physical properties of matter towards questions of perception, consciousness and our experience of being.
I am interested in the possibility of experiencing the world beyond the boundaries of the self – in moments when the distinction between the individual and the surrounding world becomes less defined. This points towards a dimension of existence that cannot be fully grasped through rational thought, but may be approached through direct experience.
